Life IS But A Dream -- So Make It So

I like the idea of living day by day. The only day we should really be thinking of is the day we are living anyway. The past is the past. The future is still up in the air and it really relies on what you do in the present moment. But there is nothing wrong with setting goals for the future. Things you want to accomplish. To check off on some random list. I guess some might call this a bucket list, but that just seems too depressing for me. I think a Life list might seem more appropriate. I'm living life, so why not live it?

Ever wonder why people seem to go through existential crises all the time? I wonder if it has anything to do with them not striving for something. Or not envisioning something more. Frankly, if you are complaining about your life, then do something about it. Complaining isn't going to change the fact that you hate your job or hate your body or hate your life. The only thing that is going to happen is that more of these negative thoughts are going to come your way. Obviously complaining is getting you nowhere, so why not change your frame of mind? Sounds simple enough ... so it is worth the try, no matter how silly it might make you feel.

There is nothing wrong with accomplishments. I have accomplished many things in my short life, and I don't feel one ounce of guilt for it (as I shouldn't). My accomplishments don't hurt anybody. They are for me. And if what I've done in my life makes you feel as if you've done nothing with yours, well then, hey, I can't do anything about that. I didn't put that thought in your head; you did. I'm not going to stop setting goals and meeting them just to make you feel better about yourself. This is about me and my happiness. Remember, nobody else can give me my happiness, so what? Am I supposed to just sit around and do nothing about it? No. This life isn't worth living if I can't at least feel excitement for it.

The point is, setting goals or a life list is a great way to feel as though you are doing something that brings you joy. There is no deadline for life goals. You've got all the time you need, so why put that pressure on yourself?

Some of my life goals:

1) Go skydiving.
2) Set foot on each continent (except maybe Antarctica)
3) Ride a hot air balloon.
4) Live in a different country for a year.
5) Own a house.
6) Meet and seduce Leonardo DiCaprio.

I tend to dream big, but is there any other way?
