Update

Well, she got fired.

That's it ... my karma is shot to shit.

Wow. Maybe that's just her karma.

She's an excuse whore (come on--chipped tooth AND a migraine). I know lots of people in that category. I learned a long time ago that no one wants to hear excuses. So, I don't offer excuses for my fuck-ups. This is a good lesson for her. Let's hope she learns it.

karma schmarma. she brought this one on herself. one fuck up does not a firing make.

No no no, that's her karma. Which it sounds like she made on her own. She's an adult, she should have called her employer.

Yes, you guessed it, yet another this is going to tell you it is not your fauly. Wanna knkow why? Because it isn't and you shouldn't waste a minute feeling bad for someone who clearly brought this on herself - you heard yourself that her strongpoint is tardiness and missing appointments.

Focus on what is important - YOU!

She did this to herself. If this was a one time thing, they wouldn't have let her go.

It can't be from one time..she obviously had a track record for this sort of thing - it's the universe telling you to find a new and improved trainer...

Or perhaps your karma is better because you've spared others from going through the same thing.

Just sayin'

I agree; it's her karma. When you offer up excuses like that (hah, "excuse whore!" it's true; they exist), but don't follow through with everything else at the gym (moving your time, letting them know that she wouldn't be there), it suggests that she knows they'd get pissed that she was cancelling a session again. It's on her.

Ditto to everyone above me. Her Karma biting her in the ass. not yours. Seriously, don't feel bad. Like others have said and like you said they gym said in your post, she has done this before. Your situation was the final straw for them. Whether she called you or not, it's a pattern that the gym obviously didn't like and as an employee of the gym she should have let them know she wasn't going to make your appointment. Period.

Your commenters are very smart people. Listen to them.

Hmm, it's all your fault. You're an evil person. If you just had your damn cell phone on and with you, this could have been avoided. I'm sure she's living under some freeway with needles in her arm. Better yet, she's probably already fat and asking for handouts. You really did it this time EM. Being you has a price! I hope you feel good.

Second Dexter Colt on the "Excuse Whore", and not just because I love the phrase. Chipped tooth? Sounds like she was running out of times she could have food poisoning.

Seriously, it isn't because of you! Clearly this woman had made her own bed. And something like a headache when you are a trainer and other people are counting on you isn't a good excuse. Hello, you were there sweating while you were sick! See the comparison. It's not your fault, so don't stress over it or beat yourself up. She did and brought all of it on herself!

Can I borrow your power? I'd like to tidy up a few peeps around me.

Yes to everything said in the comments above me - if she didn't personally speak with you and know with 100% certainty that you knew she wasn't coming in, then she should have left a message at the front desk for you as well.

And I too have an issue with someone who feels the need to add multiple reasons for why they can't do something. She should have just said something simple like "I'm very sorry but unfortunately I have a health issues today and can not make it." I'm sure you didn't need details on why she wasn't coming in and it makes her sound fake.

Good riddance.

Don't feel bad - I think she had it coming...

I wouldn't be so fast blaming myself if I were you.

'karma' means work. And clearly, she failed at HER karma.
