This weather always has a way of psyching me out.
It's that damn groundhog. He fucks everything up. He comes out of his little hole, yawns and stretches, maybe releases some gas among other things, gets all us humans in a tizzy about whether or not we still have weeks of winter left, gets his photo op, then crawls back into its little cave probably laughing with his other groundhog friends about how we're all morons who base the next few weeks of weather on if he saw his shadow or not.
Basically, I'm sick of the cold. It looked like it was warming up (and yes, in Canada, zero degrees Celsius is warm at this time of year) and just as I started to leave my scarf and gloves at home, another snowfall hit. So now it's cold again and while I shouldn't be surprised, since I live in Canada and it's still February after all, that groundhog always gives me false hope that maybe this is the year where Spring will come early.
I figured this outfit gives me a little taste of summer while still braving the cold weather with some essential items. The belt in the dress allowed me to incorporate black (my favourite) into the outfit. Since it's still too cold to be walking around with a sleeveless dress, that shrug is a must.
Puxatony Phil might be able to take the Spring breeze away from me, but he will not take away my desire to dress as though Winter has finally been put to bed.
(I'm sorry if this makes no sense, but in my defense it's nearly 2am.)

You're using the "late card"? I love it.
While you want warmth, I'm concerned that summer is fast approaching in India. Too much of something can never be a good thing! God, I DO NOT want to stick around for 45C weather and 99% humidity!
I want summer warmth too. But I really want your closet of clothes!!
Love that dress!
Not sure what groundhog you're referring to, but both Wiarton Willie and Punxatawney Phil saw their shadow, which is supposed to mean 6 more weeks of winter (I know, it's backwards). So get used to it....we're supposed to get upwards of 6 inches of snow tomorrow down here in Windsor.
Sorry.....Punxsutawney Phil (can anyone spell this correctly?)
I guess I was referring to the same Phil you are referring to!! Bad spelling ... I has it.
Sometimes your outfits intimidate me, as in there's no way I'd ever be able to wear that! But, this outfit? Super cute AND I could actually pull off wearing it. Bonus points to you this week!
I like your sparing use of "The Secret". I think too many Northerns use it at the same time and we get global warming- you're just using it to visualize a smart summer outfit- well done!
that's a hot outfit -
Those boots are so fierce, I just got a little bit burned. No lie.
I've got a pair of earrings just like those!
My summer has disappeared of late :(
Happy Sunday! I nominated you for the 'Your Blog is Fabulous' Award!!! Stop by and check it out!!!!
zero degrees celsius is warm? dammit. There weather hardly drops below 10 degrees celsius here in winter and then I'm already miserable.
