Parents Suck

Okay, let me elaborate on that (as I'm sure there are lots of parents thinking, "Hey! I'm a parent and I don't suck!").

There is this one parent at my school who is basically a Nazi. She torments any teacher who has the pleasure of teaching her kids, because they can do no wrong, even when they are doing wrong. Go figure!

A friend of mine was reduced to frustrated tears after a 20 minute phone conversation with that parent today. And this made me really pissed off because it was completely unwarranted.

Her son (my friend's student) is somewhat of a nuisance with the other kids. I don't know if he starts the annoyances with the other kids or not, but he is an active participant. And his mother is full of excuses.

"Why does he get detention and the other kids don't?"

Who said the other kids don't? Do we have to inform you or your son of any discipline that is handed out throughout the day?

When it's HIM that picks on other kids ...

"My son is very rambunctious and him teasing other kids is just a part of growing up."

Seriously? The nerve. How dare she say that making another kid feel like shit is just a part of growing up.

"If I find out that my son is getting into trouble or has a detention again, then I'm taking this matter to the principal!"

Here's a thought. How about you get your head out of your ass and actually deal with the situation instead of pretending that your son is the victim when clearly he is not and is just as much a part of being an instigator as the others are.

Funny thing about all this? She has a younger son who is apparently getting teased by other students. Her reaction to this is the complete opposite of all the excuses she has made for her older son who bullies. Apparently when it's her child, it's not as simple as "boys will be boys" and "being rambunctious" and "it all being a part of growing up." Apparently when it's her son, it's time to bring in the authorities.

My friend isn't the first, and won't be the last, teacher who has had a run-in with this Nazi of a mother. Apparently she's even had a yelling match with the principal out in the kiss-and-ride zone of our school because she wanted to park her car there. No wonder her kids are little assholes ... just look at the example they've got to follow.

She's just unbelievable. I almost hope that one day I get one of her sons as a student. She better not try any of that shit with me because I'll take that bitch down.
