1) I'm eating a lot less.
I believe this to be in direct relation to the increase in heat. So (in case you weren't paying attention) an increase in heat equals a decrease in food intake. Also, I'm looking to eat things that are fresher (and I don't mean food that will attempt to make a pass at me). I'm eating a lot more fruits and vegetables. Oh and summer fruits are my absolute favourite kind so I'm consuming my fair share of that.
2) I'm getting my feet ready for sandals.
While I'm not getting a professional pedicure done (I get a little paranoid about how clean those tools actually are and I'm not really in the mood to get an infection because of a pedi gone wrong), I am making my feet all purdy on my own. I'm also getting my pretty summer shoes out from hibernation. They are ready to make an appearance ... and some will be making their debut.
3) I'm working out in the great outdoors.
Ok fine, this isn't something that I do usually. But my bootcamp is making me take my activities outside ... and I'm hooked. There's something to be said for running through an obstacle course or doing some push-ups, squats or sit-ups with the sun in your face and a breeze through your hair.
4) I'm counting down until school is out.
The perks about being a teacher is that the months of July and August are mine and mine alone. I'm gearing up to take a vacation overseas. It's been 3 years since I've hopped on a plane, and it's time that I've made the trek over an ocean again. After all, I do have that luxury of time off so I might as well use it wisely.
5) Can you say lazy Sunday's?
Today I opened up all the windows and watched as my curtain parachuted against the breeze. I watched a movie and finished a couple of books that I had on the go. I took a drive through the country side with my windows rolled down and my sunroof open and Coldplay playing on the stereo. My idea of heaven.
6) The fashion.
I cannot wait to bust out the sundresses. They're cute and flirty and twirly. And no one will look at you strangely if you happen to walk barefoot with your shoes dangling from your fingers while in a sundress. It just seems like the right think to do.
7) The hair.
French twist secured loosely with a clip at the crown of my head. Sexy and loose tendrils falling on my shoulder. Wisps framing my face. Two reasons why this style screams summer ... One, it allows your neck to breathe in the heat. Two, the style goes well with the sundress.
8) The skin.
Golden brown. Sun lotion included. I want golden brown, not faux leather.
9) Sleep attire.
Au naturel. It's too damn hot for pajamas.
10) Dinner on a patio.
Who wants to be cooped up in a restaurant when you can eat and drink outside? Perfect scenario for people watching ... wearing sunglasses means your victims are none the wiser.
This is going to be a fantastic summer ... I just know it.
